Sleek Deco Art Moderne aluminum & brass Cigar Humidor – lidded box/bucket designed by Lurelle Guild for Kensington. This piece was a trophy thus engraved AURORA GUN CLUB – Alexis I. DuPont MEMORIAL SHOOT – 1937. Inscribed on the bottom with « Kensington » & their stag in shield mark. I believe this piece was a deaccession from the Hagley Museum in Delaware, as I can find info listing this in a box, at the museum, as an artifact Box V. Of the Aurora Gun Club. While you can used this as a lidded box or bucket, I believe it was originally a cigar humidor as the two clips/prongs attached to the underside of the lid would have been used to clip a damp sponge in place – to keep cigars from drying out. No matter what the intended use – it can be used for many things – Great piece for your home, bar, game room or « man cave ». 7″ tall with the lid, 5″ top diameter, 4 1/4 base diameter. Still with the original chrome surround (not re chromed) The clock has its original stamped Junghans cleaned and serviced movement in working order. The clock strikes every 15 minutes the Westminster tune on its original 8 bar gong, there is a possibility to turn this off. The original pendulum, hands and chromed weights will make the clock run for 8 days. A very nice and good quality made movement! Behind the bow glass the dial is caring just as the movement the name Junghans. Overall in very good original used condition, with beautiful patination and colour. 194cm high 61cm wide 31cm deep. To your information, all the clocks we sell are fully serviced, this is done in our own workshop. The movements are dismantled and fully cleaned and our clocks are in working order. A child of the past at play frozen in time. A young boy plays hoop rolling as he runs down the street. Hoop rolling (also called Trundling) was a sport and popular child’s game, in which a large hoop is rolled by a chosen implement. The aim of the game was to keep the hoop upright for long periods of time or to do tricks. Dressed like many young boys of the early 1900’s, he wears rain boots, shorts and a well-detailed hooded sailors coat with a bow in the center of his chest. Sailor suits and attire were very popular at the time. He has short hair that frames his cheerful face. A beret sits back on the crown of his head, leaving his hair free beneath it. He is a brown patina but with touches of gold in his hair and his round face. 100% bronze handmade and detailed, this sculpture was cast using the « Lost Wax Method ». It is mounted on a square black marble base and signed by the artist D. Virgin Islands, however, an additional charge may be required. Jade pendant 1.75″ x 1.25″. 15″ L, 10″ hang with the pendant. Condition, jade pendant, light surface crack line on the back. Antique Chinese export jewelry pieces found in the US collectible market were mostly imported between 1880 to 1930’s. After that Chinese civil war and Communist regime interrupted the trade. Using gold wash silver filigree or solid silver pieces, combined with carved semi precious stones or organic materials and designs inspired by traditional themes, Chinese silversmith crated excellent pieces of beautiful jewelry for export market.
