Details: Estate item – This great 9ct pen has lain untouched in a drawer for decades – at least 40 years as a result it is in need of an overhaul. The measures approx 5.35 inches end to end and diameter of the center barrel is 38mm, it has a lever for the ink, when you gently open it it crinkles and crunches like you are stepping on a bag of chips : The only part I could get to unscrew was the actual cap, I do not know if any other parts come off – I didn’t want to mess with it. There are lots off marks – starting from the end which is marked Waterman’s, the leaver is marked Ideal – next to that is full FDW hallmark and full UK hallmarks for 1927. The nib looks to be original no visible hallmarks but it does xray as gold also – maybe the mark is on the part that is unseen. On the cap there is the 9 /375 hallmark again and along the rim there is « Waterman’s Ideal Fountain Pen » impressed into the gold. Please note: The clip is missing on the cap – we do not have it.
