Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a pair of nice verdigris bronze bookends decorated with a male bust sculpture on a stepped base with a tall Gothic cathedral spire in the background. The bronze has a verdigris finish and excellent details. The male bust is unidentified and is perhaps a 19th Century poet or writer. No identifiable markings on the bronze but has a French appearance. Measures 9 5 /8″ high, 4 3/8″ wide and 2 deep. Weighs 6.5 pounds. These nice bookends are in very good to excellent Estate condition, one tilts slightly forward at the top (see photos).
