Wonderful Russian Art Deco silver cigarette case. Solid silver cigarette case with gilt interior. Decorated with clean, straight lines this cigarette case dates to around 1925. While I cannot discern any assay marks, the silver quantity number is 916 which probably means that this piece is Russian. The only other stamped mark is Asst. I haven’t been able to link this mark to a specific silversmith, but it is my hope that this mark will mean something to someone with more experience. This piece has been tested, and it does test as high quality silver. It is in very good condition, but to be absolutely clear on any possible issues. The interior gilt could benefit from a polish, and there are a few spots of tarnish. The two elastic band clips need adjusting. Minor marks and very slight warp to silver, in keeping with its 100 years. Still, the case opens, closes and locks smoothly, no major damage, and still a very fine looking piece. 71 grams, 8.4cm x 7.7cm.
